Ride Report 5 March 2016
What a beautiful afternoon for a twilight ride.
The destination was organised by Betty for a ride up to the top of Mount Wellington.
Nine riders left DeBomford for an easy ride through the city and up towards Strickland Avenue junction with the Huon Road where were grouped.
Betty was coming along the rear in the Cooper S keeping an eye on proceedings.
We made it to the summit where the car park was almost full of tourists and locals. It was a beautiful 15°C up here. The sky was clear with no wind and the view as always was breathtaking.
Keen tourists were taking photos of themselves and each other in front, behind, under and over the bikes.
We left the throng of visitors and made our way back down the Mountain and took a right down through waterworks to Lynton Avenue. Here we made a right turn and followed Proctors Road to Olinda Grove and then rejoined the Southern Outlet for a ride through town to meet at Budgie Smugglers for a coffee and chat.
A large crowd was outside the City Hall waiting to enter and watch the boxing later this evening.
We left after nourishment and went our separate ways to our abodes.
I do hope Betty went home for a nourishing meal!!!!!!!!!
